It was appalling that the newly-appointed spokesman of the Adeleke re-election campaign committee whose mission was to publicise the governorship candidate of his party only succeeded in adding to the burden of the incumbent governor whose activities in the close to four years have exposed him as not capable or desirable for improving the fortune of the state.
Olajengbesi who spoke on several issues during a radio programme that was monitored in Osogbo, the state capital, on Thursday, was able, through his submission, to prove his unbelief in the rule of law as he declared that his boss won the 2018 governorship election, forgetting that an election is a process, of which litigation is a crucial part of.
It was quite unfortunate that a supposed legal practitioner all in the name of politics and politicking could have such a shameless audacity to brazenly talk down on the judiciary which gave a deserving victory to the former Governor Gboyega Oyetola now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy in the 2018 governorship election.
Why is it that it's only when it suits his whims and caprices as a lawyer that the party spokesman would applaud the judgement of the court and rubbishes same when it goes the other way?
Based on the Olajengbesi criticism of the 2018 Supreme Court of Nigeria verdict that saw merit in giving victory to Oyetola, would it then be right to state that the same apex court of the land that awarded victory to Adeleke in respect of the 2022 governorship election was wrong in its judgement?
It was disheartening and embarrassing to high heavens that the same blabbering Olajengbesi who could not differentiate activism from publicity was busy roaring like a faulty corn-grinding machine during the radio interview was brazenly engaging in misrepresentation of judicial facts and figures to the utter disappointment of the discerning minds.
How on earth could a supposed legal practitioner could have admitted during the radio interview that there was no Court of Appeal judgement that reinstated the APC local government council chairmen and the councillors when even the laymen in the field of law were aware of the 10th of February, 2025 Court of Appeal judgement that expressly reinstated the council executives and that the Peoples Democratic Party bungled the window of opportunity to appeal the judgement?
It was even interesting that the confused and loquacious Adeleke campaign committee spokesman admitted that the reinstated local government council chairmen have a tenure and that their tenure has expired.
Assuming without conceding that the tenure of the council bosses has expired, Olajengbesi should answer a question on the propriety of the PDP to have held another purported local government council election which wasn't better than a charade during the subsistency of the tenure of the APC local government council chairmen and councillors.
Why is it difficult for Olajengbesi, a lawyer, to know that his statement has further complemented and reinforced the subsisting tenure elongation suit of the reinstated local government council chairmen and councillors before the court in the state?
There's every propensity for someone who is bogged down with the diarrhoea of the mouth like Olajengbesi to unwittingly talk himself into an irredeemable trouble as was witnessed on the radio programme on Thursday morning.
We are not bothered about the campaign of calumny the uncoordinated and clumsy newly appointed Adeleke re-election campaign committee spokesman has been deploring in castigating the former highly cerebral Governor Oyetola and Honourable Wole Oke, the pragmatic campaign committee Director-General of our highly resourceful governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), as it goes to no issue because of its untruthfulness and irrelevancy.
There's no amount of noise that Olajengbesi and his ilk will make on the radio that would prevent their boss from being sent out of the Bola Ige House, Abere, through the forthcoming governorship election when the Ikire-born accomplished manager of men and resources, AMBO, will begin his restoration agenda of the lost glory of the stat
