The Osun State Primary Healthcare Development Board (OSPHCDB) has commenced a one-day orientation workshop for Health Technicians, Health Assistants, and Dental Health Technicians and Technologists drawn from Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.
The workshop, held on Wednesday at Halatria Hotel, Osogbo, was declared open by the Osun State Commissioner for Health, Hon. Jola Akinola, who reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration to strengthening primary healthcare services through continuous capacity building and improved service delivery.
In his address, Hon. Akinola commended the participants for their dedication to healthcare delivery at the grassroots, urging them to make the most of the training by embracing modern healthcare practices and maintaining professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the Osun State Primary Healthcare Development Board, Dr. Shina Igbalaye, welcomed participants to the workshop and described the training as a strategic initiative aimed at improving the knowledge, skills, and efficiency of frontline healthcare workers across the state's Primary Healthcare Centres.
Dr. Igbalaye noted that the Board remains committed to equipping healthcare personnel with the necessary tools and expertise required to deliver quality, accessible, and people-centred healthcare services. He appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for his unwavering support and sustained investment in the primary healthcare sector, which has continued to transform healthcare delivery across Osun State.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Osun State Primary Healthcare Development Board, Alhaji Tajudeen Adisa, charged the trainees to approach the workshop with seriousness and commitment. He urged them to actively participate in all training sessions and apply the knowledge gained to improve healthcare services in their respective facilities.
Alhaji Adisa emphasized that the success of the state's healthcare system depends largely on the competence, dedication, and ethical conduct of frontline health workers, encouraging participants to remain good ambassadors of the Board.
The orientation workshop brought together Health Technicians, Health Assistants, and Dental Health Technicians and Technologists from Primary Healthcare Centres across Osun State to update their knowledge, strengthen their professional capacity, and enhance effective healthcare service delivery at the grassroots.
