Osun State government set up Commission of Equiry on public disturbance in the state.











Osun State government has Inaugurated a five-man  Commission of  Inquiry on disturbance of public peace in the state.

Addressing  memebers of the commission chaired by Retired Justice Kunle.Ajeigbe, the state govenor, senator Ademola Adeleke said the step became necessary in view of the recent public peace disturbance in the state.

Represented by his deputy, Prince kola.Adewusi, the governor noted that recent disturbances of public peace in parts of Osun State have caused avoidable loss of lives, destruction of property, displacement of families, and deep wounds in the fabric of  communal harmony. 

He explained that the constitution of the commission was in line with the  COMMISSIONS OF INQUIRY LAW, CAP. 29, LAWS OF OSUN STATE, 2002

In his acceptance.spweech, chairman of the commission, Retired Justice Kunle Ajeigbe tasked residents of the state who have genuine information and evidence to approach the commission.

Retired Justice Ajeigbe who appreciated the govenros for the Confidence reposed in him and other members promised  to be guided with law,  fairness and transparency .

The commission is to among other things: investigate the remote and immediate causes of recent disturbances of public peace in the State

Identify persons, groups, or systemic failures that contributed to the breakdown of law and order and recommend measures that will strengthen peace, security, and community cohesion.
