Osun 2026: The Osun Masterminds tells Osun Police to wake up against political violence.

 

The Osun masterminds wants security agencies to build up security ahead of August 15th governorship Election in the state especially in the face of consistent political violence and killings in the state.


Addressing a press conference in Osogbo ,The Executive Director of The Osun masterminds, Professor Wasiu Oyedokun condemned the killings and urged Security apparatus to be up to the task to curtail the killings and violence before,during and after Election.



Professor Oyedokun urged all stakeholders to play the game according to the rules and regulations and shun any act that could lead to rancour and acrimony hence the need for political actors to avoid utterances that build up tension in the politic.


He maintained that all the institutions working on the electoral process must be fair and transparent in their conduct including the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC , police Media  and Civil societies organizations must not compromise the system by giving all the players a level playing ground.



The Executive Director charged political gladiators to eradicate criminal elements from their political structure in the interest of peace and harmony,saying no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of violence.



Professor Oyedokun decried political actors harboring political thugs and hinted that such act was an attempt to endanger democracy and expose citizens to unnecessary fear and this may lead to political apathy.



He noted that the manance of cyber bullying,Fake News and  Misinformation on social media were becoming every day occurrence in Osun State and hinted that this manance has serious negative implications on the forthcoming governorship Election in the state.



Professor Oyedokun condemned the act of Fake News and Cyber bullying especially as the state was in the verge of Electing new governor for Osun State. Saying Election was not a  do or due affairs .
