Osun State Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations,Dr Biyi Odunlade says the popularity of Governor Ademola Adeleke combine with his achievements in all facets of human endeavours are enough for him to win reelection in the state.
Dr Odunlade who stated this in Osogbo while featuring on Impact Digital Television Osogbo personality interview programme tagged "The Dialogue" said Governor Adeleke had recorded significant achievements in the area of infrastructure and Economic development.
He said the present administration had succeeded in open the state for industrial growth through provision of dualized roads for the nine major cities in Osun State including Ila oragun ,Iwo and Ilesa among others.
He said defection of some political actors from Accord to APC can never be a threat to Accord party as the candidate of the party has succeeded in creating enduring legacy that was generally acceptable to the citizenry.
The Commissioner noted that the three senator districts of the state remained the strongholds of the governor since the present administration had its presence in all the senatorial districts, Federal constituencies and local government areas,saying Governor Adeleke was well positioned to win August 15th governorship Election in the state.el
He said the array of defectors to Accord party in the recent time was a strong testimony that the party was well accepted in the state ,saying those who left Accord party recently were expired politicians who had lost their electoral value.
Dr Odunlade who hinted that the achievements of governor Ademola Adeleke in the area of workers and pensioners welfare especially the payment of half salary arrears and prompt of promotion of civil servants in the state had endeared the government to workers in state and this acceptability was one the factors that would translate to Electoral victory for the governor.
While dismissing the propaganda of federal might, the Commissioner noted that political actors could only claim Victory in the area of their acceptability and popularity.
Dr Odunlade said the only demand of Accord party was provision of a level playing ground for all political parties by the electoral umpire and other institutions involved in the electoral process
Dr Odunlade however appealed for peace and urged gladiators to shun violence,saying it was unreasonable for a political party to resolve to violence with aim of intimidating the opponent,saying Accord party members,supporters and electorate could never be intimidated by desperate politicians.
