The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Special Duties, Mr. Akinwumi Odejobi, says the Osun State Government has continued to execute massive infrastructure projects across the state without borrowing funds, insisting that the current administration remains committed to completing every project it embarks upon.
Odejobi stated this during the maiden edition of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council’s “NUJ Guest Platform,” held at the NUJ Press Centre in Osogbo with the theme, “Infrastructure Provision in Osun State Under the Ongoing Dispensation.”
According to him, the Adeleke administration has undertaken several developmental projects in different parts of Osogbo and across Osun State, including the provision of street lighting and major road construction projects.
“There is no government that has done what the present administration is doing, and there is no project that the government touches and doesn’t finish,” he said.
Responding to questions from a panel of journalists during the interactive session, Odejobi highlighted some of the projects completed by the administration, including the Oke-Fia Flyover in Osogbo, the Lameco dualisation project, and road projects in Iwo, Ilesa, Ogbọ Titun, Oke-Isa Community, Araromi, among other communities across the state.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the NUJ, Osun State Council, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin, said the platform was put together to bridge the gap between government, professionals, and the public by providing objective discussions on issues of public interest.
Aboderin stressed the importance of infrastructure development to economic growth and societal wellbeing, noting that functional infrastructure remains critical to commerce and the dignity of the people.
He added that the NUJ Guest Platform would continue to serve as a forum for constructive engagement between public office holders, stakeholders, and journalists in the state
