Intending pilgrims from Osun State have been urged to serve as worthy ambassadors of the state as they embark on the holy pilgrimage to Mecca.
Governor Ademola Adeleke gave this charge during a farewell programme for the pilgrims in Abere, emphasizing the importance of good conduct throughout the spiritual journey.
Addressing the gathering, the governor noted that Osun State has maintained an admirable record in previous pilgrimages, a standard he encouraged the new batch of pilgrims to sustain.
He stressed that adherence to the rules and regulations guiding the Hajj exercise is essential, not only for personal fulfillment but also for preserving the state’s reputation.
Governor Adeleke further called on the pilgrims to offer prayers for peace, stability, and continued development in Osun State during their stay in the holy land.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Rasheed Aderibigbe, disclosed that the state government had made adequate provisions to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage for all participants.
He commended the governor for his commitment and support, which he said would significantly ease the challenges often associated with the journey.
The farewell event attracted prominent Islamic clerics and community leaders, featuring special prayers and enlightening lectures aimed at preparing the pilgrims spiritually and morally for the sacred exercise.
