Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla, who represents Osun Central Senatorial District, has pledged support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State with the donation of an office space and a utility vehicle to strengthen the initiative's grassroots mobilization ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial and general elections.
The senator made this known on Monday when he received the leadership of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Osun State, led by the State Ambassador, Oluomo Sunday Akere.
Speaking during the meeting, Ajagunla reflected on his political journey into the All Progressives Congress and described the warmed reception he and his team received from the party leadership. He particularly acknowledged the role of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and leader of the party in Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, whom he said had shown them unusual openness and support since their entry into the APC.
According to him, loyalty to the party and commitment to its success remain central to his political mission. He said his dedication to Oyetola and the APC is total, adding that the leadership of the party has continued to treat them with trust and respect, despite their relatively recent arrival. He noted that whenever they reached out to the party’s apex leadership in the state, they were always given a listening ear.
Ajagunla said his decision to join the APC was taken in conviction, despite the challenges that came with it, and stressed that he and his supporters are fully prepared to do everything within their power to help the party reclaim Osun in the August 15 gubernatorial election which would bring Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as governor of the state, as well as the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As part of his contribution to the cause, the senator announced the donation of a building to serve as office space for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State. He also pledged a bus as a utility vehicle to support the movement’s activities, assuring the group that more assistance would follow in due course.
He said the main purpose of their defection to the APC is to work for the party’s victory and help return Osun to a leadership they believe will manage the state better and more responsibly. He added that unity within the party would be crucial in achieving that goal.
In his response, Ambassador Sunday Akere thanked Senator Ajagunla for what he described as a timely and meaningful show of support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors. He said the gesture was a strong sign of commitment to the larger mission of rebuilding the party’s strength at the grassroots and preparing for victory in the next round of elections.
Akere added that the Osun APC has a responsibility to prove its readiness to deliver the state in the forthcoming governorship election and also position the party strongly for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election. He said that belief in unity of purpose has continued to guide his engagements across the state, which is why he has remained consistent in reaching out to leaders and key stakeholders of the party at different levels.
He expressed confidence that with support, coordination, and a shared sense of direction, the party would be in a stronger position to achieve success at the polls.
