The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun State Chapter, Hon Abiodun Idowu says the provision of motorcycles to Nigeria police is aimed at aiding the fight against insecurity in the state.
Hon Idowu who stated this while presenting motorcycles to Osun Police Command in Osogbo said the security intervention was made possible through effectiveness of local government autonomy in Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the motorcycles would enhance mobility, improve response time, and enable security agencies to access difficult terrains, particularly rural area
The ALGON Chairman commended the dedication and sacrifices of security personnel urged for more courage, resilience, and commitment to duty to inspire confidence of citizenry .
He expressed the readiness of local government leaders in Osun State to always deliver impactful governance at the grassroots by investing in initiatives that promote security, peace, and sustainable development.
Osun State Commissioner of Police ,Mr Ibrahim Gotan said Security was collective responsibility and security challenges required collaboration, partnership, and sustained support from all stakeholders.
Mr Gotan said donation of this motorcycle will undoubtedly enhance our operational capacity, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, and will improve response time and patrol courage.
The police Commissioner commended ALGON for impactful intervention,saying it would go a long way to enhance their fight against insecurity.
