Osun State has restated its dedication to ensuring every citizen gets a fair shot at government opportunities.
An indication to this effect came to the gore when a high powered delegation of officials from the Federal Character Commission (FCC) paid a visit to,Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Receiving the team at the Governor's House, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye who was represented by , Mr. Olusoji Wojuade welcomed the FCC team on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Hon. Igbalaye made it clear that the Adeleke administration takes equity and national unity seriously which he further described as guiding principles for how the state is run.
Igbalaye pointed out that Osun has been walking the talk as appointments are spread fairly across the state's three senatorial districts,stressing that the broader goal is to build a state where every Osun son or daughter will have a sense of belonging .
In her remarks,the team lead of FCC delegation, Mrs. Toyin Owoniyi explained that the visit was about building a stronger working relationship with the state. She emphasized that the Commission was created by the Nigerian Constitution specifically to make sure that no part of Nigeria gets left behind when it comes to jobs, public services, and infrastructure.
She equally outlined the three main goals for the visit ; tightening cooperation between the Commission and Osun, checking how well the state is doing on fair appointments and promotions, and encouraging the state to keep its records and reports up to date.
Owoniyi was thankful to Osun state government for the warm reception accorded the delegation during the visit .
The meeting drew the presence of top government officials in the state among whom were Permanent Secretaries, Directors, and others drawn from different Ministries,Departments and Agencies .
