A 14-year-old boy, Ezekiel Olapade, has been shot dead by some suspected political thugs in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
According to a video in circulating on the social media,the incident occurred around 3 in the afternoon when the suspected political thugs, opened fire at a palm wine shop belonging to the victim’s mother located opposite the local government secretariat.
Speaking in the video, the victim’s father alleged that the attackers arrived in a branded vehicle of one of the gubernatorial candidates of a Political Party in the State.
The father said everyone at the scene, including his wife and son, ran for safety,but his son went back to rescue his Mother who he noticed she fell down while running for safety.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson, Osun State police command, Mr. Abiodun Ojelabi, said the command has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators who were currently at large.
Mr. Ojelabi explained that The incident occurred in the afternoon, adjacent to the Irepodun Local Government Secretariat.
He also disclosed that another person was hit by a bullet and is receiving treatment in a hospital, adding that the identity of the second victim is yet to be established.
