Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon Eluwole Sunday Adedipo, has restated the commitment of the present administration in the state to safety and protection of school and students in the state.
Hon Eluwole while speaking with Impact Digital Television, IDTV, in his office emphasised that security is essential due to recent case of kidnapping in school in Oyo State.
The Commissioner noted that efforts of the Osun State government towards the safety of life and property cannot be over emphasised saying Governor Ademola Adeleke has done everything possible to ensure complete safety for all and sundry.
He noted that due to rising concerns of student safety, the state government had built up security in schools in the state
"The incidents of insecurity have disrupted learning, heightened anxiety among parents, and underscored the urgent need for sustained security interventions in the education sector in some states while they have also forced many schools to shut down temporarily.
"The Impact of these is that parents increasingly withdraw their children from schools perceived as unsafe, as meaningful learning cannot take place in an atmosphere of fear".
Hon Eluwole said, Osun State government would continue to intensify efforts to protect students and ensure schools remain safe and conducive for learning.
