The concerned contract staff of Osun State polytechnic Iree and Osun State college of Technology,Eesa Oke want the Osun State government to absorb them as permanent staff into the institutions.
The group in a statement made available to Newsmen in Osogbo said the step has long overdue,noting that some of them have spent up to fifteen years as a contract staff.
The statement which was addressed to the state chain of NLC ,Mr Christopher Arapasopo said they remain in the system with the hope that would be absorbed into the system in due course.
They noted that their monthly stipend can no longer take them home as the situation had subjected them to untold hardship.
The concern group expressed optimism that if the matter is brought to the knowledge of Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke,there case would have been resolved since he assumed office in 2022
They called on the Osun State government to into their matter and repose confidence in the place of anxiety.
Reacting to the development,The management of Osun State polytechnic,Iree said efforts are in top gear to ensure the absorption of the contract staff into permanent staff.
The media officer and Dean, Students Affairs Of Osun State polytechnic,Iree, Dr Tope Abiola said their engagement into the service was long overdue attributed the delay to paucity of fund.
Dr Abiola said the institution was working with the state government to ensure that the issue is resolved in no distance time.
