OSUN AMOTEKUN SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH OSUN COMMAND OF NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE

The leadership of the Osun Amotekun Corps has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and improving security architecture across Osun State following a strategic courtesy visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Osun State Command.

The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Hon  Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, on Wednesday led members of the management team on a courtesy visit to the Controller of Immigration Service, Osun State Command, CIS M.A. Akinyemi, at the command headquarters to deliberate on enhanced cooperation among security agencies in the state.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon Omoyele stated that the visit formed part of the Corps’ ongoing engagements with security formations and service chiefs in Osun State aimed at deepening collaboration, intelligence sharing, and coordinated security operations for the protection of lives and property.

According to him, the security challenges facing society require collective responsibility, strategic partnership, and effective cooperation among all security stakeholders, particularly in the area of border surveillance and crime prevention.

This visitation is part of our deliberate effort to engage with all service chiefs in Osun State, with the aim of strengthening synergy and fostering effective collaboration in securing the lives and property of our people,” he said.

Security, as we all know, is not a one-man responsibility. It requires collective effort, mutual understanding, and strategic partnership, most especially on border control.”

The Corps Commander emphasized that collaboration remains the foundation for successful security operations, noting that while disagreements may arise among agencies, such differences should always be resolved amicably in the interest of peace, unity, and stability within the state.

“I therefore urge the Nigeria Immigration Service, Osun Command, to continue to work closely with the Osun Amotekun Corps. Let us operate as one united family, ensuring that our differences, if any, do not hinder our shared objective. The safety of our people must always come first,” he added.

Hon Omoyele further stressed the importance of unity and vigilance among security agencies, citing the need for proactive cooperation to deny criminal elements any opportunity to operate within communities across the state.

“As the proverb rightly says, ‘If the wall does not open, the lizard cannot enter.’ This underscores the importance of unity and vigilance in preventing crime. When we stand together, criminals will have no foothold in our communities.

“Let us embrace love, tolerance, and mutual respect in the discharge of our duties. Through strengthened cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint operations, we can effectively combat crime and ensure lasting peace in Osun State.

“Together, we can build a safer and more secure environment for all,” he concluded.

In his response, the Controller of Immigration Service, Osun State Command, CIS M.A. Akinyemi, appreciated the Corps Commander and members of the Amotekun management team for the visit and for their commitment toward strengthening collaboration among security agencies in the state.

He noted that no single security agency can effectively tackle insecurity alone, emphasizing that synergy among security institutions remains essential to achieving desired results.

CIS Akinyemi assured the delegation that the Nigeria Immigration Service, Osun Command, is fully prepared to work closely with the Osun Amotekun Corps, particularly in the area of border security and intelligence gathering across border communities in the state.

The meeting ended with renewed commitments from both agencies to sustain cooperation, improve operational coordination, and jointly advance peace and security across Osun State.
