Over one point seven million Muslims across the globe today converged on mountain Arafat in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to climax year 2026 Hajj exercise.
The pilgrims who were in mina yesterday used the significant site to pray for the growth and development of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking on the importance of Arafat day,The Chairman Osun State Muslim Pilgrim welfare board ,Alhaji Maroof Isola said the day was key to Hajj rites hence the need for the pilgrims to offers special prayers at the site.
Alhaji Isola urged the pilgrims to used the avenue to pray for theirselves, families, relatives, and friends as well as peace and development of state .
The chairman called on Osun pilgrims to be cautious and pray at any point in Arafat ,saying there was no need for them to clam the mountain of Arafat as every section of Arafat ground was symbolic to Hajj rite.
On his part ,The Secretary of the board, Alhaji Muritala Fakunle urged the pilgrims to always follow the direction of the board as the board would continue to provide conducive for Osun pilgrims to perform their Hajj rites.
The Executive Director of IDTV, Osogbo Alhaji Wasiu Ajadosu who is part of Osun State contingent reports that the pilgrims are expected to Move to Musdalifa this evening as part of final stage of this year Hajj rites in the Holy land of Saudi Arabia.
