The Owa obokun of ijesa land, oba Adesuyi Haastrup says he will continue to honour any son and daughter of ijesa land who use his or her talent, resources and position for the development.of ijesa land.
Oba Haastrup stated this in Ilesa in his royal speech during the induction of some ijesa sons and daughters into Obokungbusi Hall of Fame as well as presentation of award of merit to some.ijesas.
Oba Haastrup explained that the programe which will be an annual event to honour those who have contributed to the development of ijesa and encourage ijesa sons and daughters to use their resources to improve and deelopp the land.
The monarch frowned at the recent political killings in ijesa land and warned that any politician who mastermind. political violence and killings would not enjoy the support of ijesa traditional rulers and people.
In his remark, Osun state governor, senator Ademola Adeleke noted that Oba Haastrup.had been working tirelessly to fastrack more.debelopmemt. to ijesaland.
Governor Adeleke while noting that Ilesa university was used by the Opposition to set trap.for him emphasized that the success recoded on the university was due to divine wisdom.
Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that five sons and daughters.of ijesa land including Late Dr Lawrence Omole , Late IK Dairo and Chief Mrs Olayiinka Obaleye were inducted into the Obokungbusi hall of fame, while Erelu Olusola Obada and Retired Aiir Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin and Dr Odunbaku Sapara are among the ten recipients of Merit awardees
