Osun Assembly rejects redeployment of Osun REC

The Osun State House of Assembly, OSHA, says it will resist any form of electoral manipulation, defend democracy, protect institutional integrity, and safeguard the will of the people before and during the August 15th governorship poll in the state.

The speaker, Osun State House Of Assembly, Mr Wale Egbedun stated this  at a press conference held at the parliamentary section of the assembly.

Mr Egbedun while reacting to the  redeployment of the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mr Mutiu Agboke said the sudden redeployment of Mr Agboke and the planned deployment of other key officials across the State was not acceptable.

Mr Egbedun maintained that all calculated efforts, no matter how structured, could not alter the resolve of Osun state residents to ensure that their votes count and reflect their true choice.

The speaker however called the attention of the international community, development partners, and all observers of democratic governance to the political developments in the State.
